GET CERTIFIED IN INNOVATION MANAGEMENT
IXL Center builds innovation management capability through a range of courses to help individuals, teams and companies get better results, quickly and cost effectively. Our courses have been developed to help people at different levels of the company, from rising stars to senior executives and managers.
Accredited by the GIM Institute, we offer four levels of certification – Associate, Master, Manager, and Leader – that teach the competencies required for achieving High Performance Innovation Management. Increasing levels of certification denote increased capability to manage innovation.
Four Levels of Certification
The first level of certification is designed to teach you about the use of idea generation tools and then how great companies apply them to process of creating more and better ideas(or “dots”). Further, you will study the components of what makes up an innovation breakthrough and then practice creating your own breakthroughs!
The second level of certification will bring together the level-one learning to be applied with a real-world client and/or real-world problem.
To attain this certification, you will need to submit for approval a project that utilizes both idea generation tools and elements of the innovation breakthrough processes.
The third level of certification is intended to help the advanced innovator or innovation manager succeed in areas of innovation strategy, innovation capacity and innovation discipline. You will study the components of each of these three core competencies of innovation management and then practice the implementation of each throughout your modular training.
The fourth level of certification will bring together the level-three learning to be applied with a real-world client and/or real-world problem.
To attain this certification, you will need to submit for approval a project that utilizes the tools, concepts and frameworks learned around the three core competencies of innovation management.
Global Innovation Management (GIM) Institute
How can companies create a sustainable innovation capability that can proactively and consistently drive organic growth and profitability?
The answer is to make this capability more ubiquitous across organizations and a requirement for all managers, not unlike training and standards programs in accounting, marketing, strategy or operations.
Established in 2009, the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIM Institute) is a global not-for-profit organization driving standards for innovation management created by a group of Chief Innovation Officers, innovation executives, academics and consultants from around the world.

Innovation has continued to gain a meaningful significance in organizations as a way to grow. This is evidenced by increasing number of publications and the creation of diverse roles required to manage innovation. However, many efforts to date, to both certify and study innovation, have left the discipline of innovation fragmented and overly diverse.
Today, few global leaders would disagree that innovation is a core driver for creating and capturing new business value. Unfortunately, most companies are not able to innovate in financially meaningful ways. And even those companies that appeared to have “cracked the nut” like Motorola, Sony and even GM, have at one point or another ended up regressing after a period of time.
