How many hours per week each team needs to allocate? 

About 8-16 hours per week to do the research (both primary & secondary), and prepare the deck for client presentation.

How many meetings interactions with client will they have? 

Four interactions: (1) Kickoff, (2) Fields-of-Play presentation, (3) Business Concept presentation, and (4) Business Case presentation

Is the program run online, or can it be in-person for the teams based in our cities?

Most sessions are done virtually. However, if the teams and the mentor are in the same city/location, we encourage the mentor to meet with the teams in person (have them come to the mentor’s office, or go to the school).

Student teams follow an eight-week battle-tested approach that generates a wealth of insights, business concepts and business plans. Experienced innovation and growth consultants provide expert guidance and program management for each team and company. What kind of challenge or issue will I work on? Will I work on a specific project in Marketing, Finance or Strategy?

There is only one question or challenge that the student teams will address: GROWTHWhat are the big bold and bankable ideas that will drive future growth for your company?

The Innovation Olympics program is intended to give you confidence to work in any industry, company or position. Through this program, you will be able to apply techniques and knowledge in finance, operations, consulting, innovation, project management etc.

Will I get trained? Will there be additional training or guidance provided during the program?

You will be taught frameworks and methodologies by IXL Center mentors at the coaching sessions during the program. You will also have access to online tutorial on our innovation methodology and management consulting as well.

What kind of feedback will I get?

Giving and receiving peer feedback constructively is a critical part of being a business leader. The IXL Innovation Olympics is a “safe environment” to practice and learn how to work in a team and provide constructive feedback to members. You will get individual feedback from your teammates, mentor, and indirectly from client.

About Communication with Clients

What occurs when we have an exam at the same time as a Key Presentation Date?

The dates will be arranged with the clients to make both parts schedule fit. As in exception the presentation can be recorded and the feedback will be provided next day

Are client orientation meetings private or is it one meeting for all the teams assigned to that client?

Clients meetings are organized with all the teams

When will the student teams find out the client we have been assigned to?

Two weeks after the application deadline

How will the kickoff meeting be set up?

Since the Innovation Olympics is the Global Competition, most of the meetings are set up online through video conference.

Would we have access to various points of contacts within the entity (client) such as the marketing, production, sales teams?

You will meet the client 4 times for the presentations and we can arrange other sessions as needed.

Can we provide questions to the client ahead of time?

The mentor will make sure the client responds to every question as quickly as possible.

When we work through 5 steps, can we interview stakeholders or get the support from IXL if we need external recourses?

We will try to get you meetings with the different departments.
